Something
wonderful happens at the intersection of spring and summer. As the days
get longer and the sun shines brighter, we’re compelled to spend more
time outside—to squeeze out every last drop of the day before going in.
At least that’s what happens in Northeast Indiana, where I’m from
originally.
When I moved to Hawaii earlier this year, I
wondered if I’d be able to recognize the subtle change in seasons.
Turns out, I can. Days get longer here, too, the temperature goes up a
few degrees, and the sun’s rays are warmer and stronger. The ocean
becomes warm enough for saltwater novices like me to really swim. The
pool becomes a welcome, cooling treat after a long Saturday at the
beach. And instead of thinking about what to put in the oven or
microwave for dinner, my thoughts turn to the grill.
Here we are.
Summer has arrived, and it’s time to get out. If you’re finally ready
to break ground on a new deck or pool, look at The Outside Possibility.
You’ll find lots of useful advice from experts on how to find your
style—and whom to turn to when you’re ready to get the job done right.
Hosting an outdoor party? Turn your own outdoor table into a themed
backyard escape that’ll surely get your guests talking (see 1 + 1 = 3).
Looking for ways to bring your indoor and outdoor spaces together?
Maybe you’re ready to get brave with wall or décor color. See how one
homeowner did both in Curve & Color. Whether you’re planning an
intimate beach picnic for two or a family get-together in the sun and
sand, we have you covered this month. Get out and enjoy.
Aloha,
Sabra
