| After enjoying much success on Oahu, American Cabinetry opened its Kukui Grove location to accommodate a growing customer base on Kauai.

Stepping into the American Cabinetry showroom on Kauai is like walking into a dream home. A cherry-wood and bamboo bar is followed by a 20-foot-long kitchen crafted of African mahogany. Around the corner, a cherry-wood dining room precedes a bedroom, which features floating cabinets made of cherry wood and macassar ebony veneers.
Showroom sales representative Sheila Harlin says, “People strolling through Kukui Grove Center in Lihue are drawn into the store because the view through the huge windows is absolutely stunning.” There are numerous displays throughout the showroom, featuring exclusive, custom- created cabinets in four different finishes: wood, thermal foil, laminate and painted. Harlin says American Cabinetry is the only place on Kauai where customers can find all four finishes.
Though this Kukui Grove showroom just kicked-off its grand opening last October, American Cabinetry has been in Hawaii for 30 years. The Honolulu store opened in 1978, bringing the company’s huge selection, competitive prices and gorgeous displays to Oahu. Its experts can custom-make cabinets of any size or design, including deep and hidden drawers. They also educate customers on what types of cabinets will look and work best for them. In addition to this, American Cabinetry is the top-selling dealer of high-quality kitchen appliances in the Islands.

“It’s easy to work here. It’s a very classy showroom,” says sales representative Sheila Harlin.

As well as carrying cabinet, countertop and flooring products, American Cabinetry is able to assist with installation. The company’s professionals can mount the cabinets themselves, and will help hire contractors for installing countertops and flooring. The staff is willing to assist customers with every aspect of their redesigns.
After the major parts of the redesign are completed, consumers can choose from a wide array of appliances to spruce up their revamped homes. From washers and dryers to built-in ironing boards and coffee makers, the company orders appliances from 25 different manufacturers. These include Wolf, Miele, Viking, Thermador, Bosch, Fisher & Paykel, Whirlpool and GE Monogram. The showroom is the only place on Kauai that carries Sub-Zero products, including a distinctive, $13,000 Sub-Zero refrigerator. “It’s really very popular. People buy it up; it’s actually one of our items on back-order,” Says Harlin.
That’s no surprise, since there are currently 1,200 building permits on Kauai for lavish homes. American Cabinetry is one of the only shops on the Island that carries both high-end and major brand products. “The people here are so excited to have a choice like this on the Island,” Harlin says.
